Swapping a Seattle newspaper career for one exhibiting horses and selling show fashions and tack in Oregon's Rogue Valley, Pepper Kane enjoys outings with friends and family. But while line-dancing one evening she learns a prize stallion was just killed. A prime suspect, she must ID the killer as he/she closes in on her. Upping the urgency is that she, her horse and her barn buddies must travel to California for a do-or-die event to qualify for the World Open Western Show in Texas.
