A better, friendlier way to publish
The Wild Rose Press was founded in 2006 by published authors RJ Morris and Rhonda Penders.
Disheartened by the way publishers often treated authors, they believed there should be a better and friendlier way to bring books into the world. At the same time, publishing was beginning its transition into the digital age.
While many small presses appeared during that period, Morris and Penders stayed their course. They built their business and author community by balancing author satisfaction with reader expectations—believing that creating a quality product and taking care of authors was the right way to publish.
More than 500 authors and 3,500 titles later, that philosophy remains at the heart of The Wild Rose Press. We have never wavered from being a publishing house for authors, founded by authors, with customer satisfaction as a central priority.

The face of the company
Rhonda Penders
Known for her accessibility and personal approach, Rhonda makes certain that writers are heard, helped, and advised. As Editor-in-Chief, she supports a talented editorial team while giving its members the freedom to do their best work.
Her understanding of market trends has helped launch multiple successful series. She has also championed greater author input in voice, cover art, promotion, and pricing.
Publishing will always be a partnership between the author and publisher.

RJ Morris
An IT professional by trade, RJ brings the technical knowledge needed to keep an online publishing company adapting and moving forward.
Her experience includes graphic design, file conversion, digital delivery systems, website development, and technical support. Whether the company needs a new tool or an entirely customized system, she finds a way to make it work.
She can make a computer do whatever she wants it to do.
