Description

Rowen Lessing regards her arranged marriage with dread until she meets Chase Gaines. His older brother Gregory is supposed to pop the question, but Rowen much prefers the younger Gaines brother, a war veteran who empathizes with her dilemma of being shoved out of both country and town houses by her new sister-in-law. Chase also shares her love of horses and they meet often on horseback. Attacks on them while they are riding force them to delay their wedding plans until they can find out who is trying to kill him. They suspect her brother, his brother, and several others, but all are eliminated before the final attack and their discovery of the villain.
